Mountainsmith Clear Creek 20 Pack
As an outdoors writer, you sometimes find yourself overloaded with gear. While that doesn’t seem like a bad thing on the surface you often find yourself loaded down with test equipment and camera gear every time you hit the woods or trail. And that’s in addition to your normal water, food, clothes etc. that you’d normally take with you. That’s also how I ended up reviewing the Mountainsmith Clear Creek 20 pack rather than assigning it to one of the other Monkey staffers!
Cold Steel Lone Star Hunter
If you are anything like me, you like traditional things. For me, my mind goes to my grandfather, a farmer all his life and one of the wisest men I know. One thing I remember as a kid was his pocket knife. It was a big single bladed lockback made by Old Timer. I remember asking him if I could see it, and when I had the opportunity to handle the knife I was mesmerized. I think that is where my obsession with knives came from.
Umarex Makarov BB Pistol
The young musician hops into a New York taxi and asks “How do I get to Carnegie Hall?” The driver turns to the musician as says, “Practice, Practice, Practice”. While the musician didn’t quite get the answer he was looking for, the taxi driver was right on the mark. The only way to get good is to practice, practice, practice.
The Spyderco Chaparral 2 Titanium
As part of being knife nut, I really enjoy useful knives– those that are truly built for specific tasks and have a real purpose. It feels good to complete a task with the proper tool. Most times, the right tool is a fixed blade, but due to my current lifestyle, I rarely carry a fixed blade in public. I almost always carry a folder, and a small gentleman’s folder with an excellent steel and a small footprint is great fun to carry and endlessly useful for small tasks. The Chaparral 2 Titanium by Spyderco is a small knife that fits into this category.
Frogg Togg Rain Gear Review
I have bragged so much about my Frogg Toggs raingear that my husband told me I should write an article about it. So here I am.
I love the fact that the jacket and pants store in a stuff bag and take up very little room. I have the Women's All Purpose Rain Suit which is constructed from Frogg Toggs classic non-woven waterproof and breathable material. The suit is very lightweight and not restricted. The suit is cut so you can wear warm layers beneath it.
