Joe Flowers was born in Cincinnati Ohio but has moved all over the US including Florida, California, and now North Carolina where he calls home. Being an outdoor junkie all his life, he spent just about every weekend camping or hiking in the mountains of California, or in the creeks or ponds of Ohio and North Carolina.
Following his love for animals and the outdoors, Joe got a B.S. in Zoology from NC State with a minor in Entomology. In pursuit of his passions, Joe has traveled from the deserts of Utah all the way down to the Florida Everglades and the keys to catch and photograph snakes of all kinds while working on survival skills in the meantime.
He has had an affinity for knives and survival ever since he was young and recently stepped into professional writing with both knife magazines and nature magazines. His other hobbies include backpacking, canoeing, camping, fishing, hunting, reptiles, tracking, four wheeling and working on cars after he breaks them in the woods. He also has an affinity for Godzilla Movies.
He currently works in the NW Mountains of NC for a non-profit center as a grant writer and camp counselor. Joe also designs knives for different knife companies, and tries to get out to monkey in the woods about every chance he can get.
