I’m the kind of guy who loves gear of all sorts.  Some people might call it an addiction; some others might even use less complimentary names.  Whatever they might label it as, I’m guilty.  Watches are no exception when it comes to loving gear.  I generally try to stay away from modern designs that follow the trend of thinking that larger and more complicated is better.  When I was given the opportunity not only just to evaluate an Armourlite watch, but also pick the model I’d like to test I jumped at the opportunity.

CasioPathfinder-001cI'm fairly tech savvy.  I've been using computers since the infancy of the Web, have been a PDA geek since the early Palm days, and am generally addicted to tech gadgets.  I've even built most of my home computers from component parts.  When it comes to VCR's and watches though I've always had some sort of mental block when operating the fancier varieties.

IMG_6608cIf you spend a lot of time outdoors your gear probably starts to fall into two basic categories; it’s either simple and functional or it’s something that can multitask and do a variety of things while taking up the space of only one.  The Origo Rendezvous Peak wristwatch falls into that later category.  It’s a watch for sure, but it does a lot more than your granddaddy’s old Timex ever did.
