OR Show Update 7–Engergizer Has A Couple Of New Bright Spots

ORDay3007aAnother product area popular with outdoors folks is lighting.  Whether it’s a standard flashlight, a headlamp, or even some of the newer LED designs, personal area lighting is very necessary–especially for those that wish to leave a low-impact signature in the wild and do not use a traditional campfire.  Energizer already has the background in developing the best technology for battery performance.  Stepping into the area of personal lights wasn’t any real strectch for them.  During the past few years, Energizer has broadened their product offerings from basic lights for regular consumers to lights that are specifically engineered for specialty needs such as industrial use and for outdoors use as well.  At the recent Outdoor Retailer show we had a chance to see some of their new offerings, and it’s apparent that they aren’t satisfied with just keeping pace with the competition.  They’ve come out with some interesting new designs that will fit nicely within certain niches of the wilderness sports.

First up is their new line of Solar LED lights.  While I had a chance to handle these and see how they worked, I’ll be using information straight from their release to keep it accurate and concise.  I will point out that one of the nice things about their new products is that they are at very good price points considering the application and competitiveness of their quality.  For instance, take a look at the Solar Hand Crank model which retails for $16.99.  You can use the crank for power or charge it by the sun, it puts out 42 lumens of light, has a Carabiner clip style attachment point for easy carry, and just for $16.99.  That’s great value.  Take a look at their new offerings.  I’m sure you’ll see something that you like.

For the base camp or car camping crowd, this first product maybe a great option you’d take into consideration for your next trip.
