PWYP Through the years

PWYP

Practice what you preach.  For many years now we have been privileged to be a part of the PWYP family.  This was a yearly event that was always anticipated as our “It’s spring!” camp out.  It was the event that we looked forward to as the official close to winter.  Some years it was hot, some years it was rainy.  This year it was a bit chilly.  It never stopped the campers from getting down there.  There is nothing like waking up to a light layer of frost on your tent.

Over the years we have made some great friendships at PWYP that will last a lifetime.  Thank you, Terrill and Roxy, for opening up your property to this event year after year.

There have been Zombie shoots, sling shot competitions, navigation classes, plant walks, cutting competitions, and many more classes given and skills shared. I remember the one year we all sat around a campfire carving spoons. What a great time just chatting about all things outdoors.

PWYP was a place where you could camp the way you wanted. From the ultimate primitive to the slightly more luxurious tents.  This made it accessible for all ages and abilities. Young, old, or anyone with a slight physical problem, no one was left out. Practice what you preach!  If you want to rough it, do it.  If you want to be a bit more comfortable, do it.

That was the beauty of the place, no egos. Camp your way.  It also gave you a great opportunity to check out what others brought to camp with.  What the cool latest cooking gear is or the cold weather gear that you were using.  What about the new hammock upgrade?

A few days in the woods are always a good thing.  A few days in the woods with several of your closest friends?  A great thing! Thank you for the memories and learning opportunities over the years PWYP, like an old friend you will be missed!

Please enjoy some of the pictures.
